We begin our journey in the morning, at previously agreed time and pick you up at the place of your accommodation. We recommend you to start as early as possible to make the most of your time in the National Park. An English speaking driver will take care of you during the journey and make sure you do not miss any of the highlights on the way. After a two and a half hour drive you arrive at the Plitvice Lakes National Park, the world’s natural heritage. The Park is one of the greatest natural wonders in Europe. It was proclaimed a National Park in 1949 and internationally recognized and listed at the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. It is no wonder that Plitvice is an indispensable destination for tourists from all over the world.

Once there, you will be provided with all the important information and maps. In four hours of free time to explore the park at your own pace, our English speaking driver will be at your disposal at all times. Inside the Park you can explore sixteen beautiful lakes of crystal blue-green water and hypnotic cascades, tour seven different routes, hike four different hiking trails or just lounge in the shade. The Plitvice lakes are widely known as a natural phenomenon because they keep changing through sedimentation of calcium carbonate and create special kinds of algae and moss. Tufa or travertine has been deposited to form the natural dams that separate the lakes. Since the process is still going on today, just as before, new travertine barriers, curtains, stalactites, channels and cascades are being built and the existing ones are changing. So, it doesn’t matter if you have visited the lakes before, they probably look a bit different now, so you can visit all over again and never be bored. Besides the lakes, there are some interesting caves in which remains of prehistoric settlements have been found. After touring you can also catch a boat or a train ride. Once you have done exploring, we are waiting for you ready to take you to Zagreb. In the end, we suggest using the opportunity to taste the typical local dishes from this area in a local tavern (optional).

The arrival to Zagreb can be expected at around 7 pm.

PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK

The Plitvice Lakes are a whole year sensation, especially when covered in snow during winter periods. They truly resemble a winter wonderland. You can relax in the shade or explore the results of the process called sedimentation of calcium carbonate and the work of special kinds of algae and moss. Tufa or travertine has continuously been deposited to form the natural dams that separate the lakes. Since the process is still ongoing today, just as it has always been, new travertine barriers, stalactites, channels, curtains and cascades are being built and the existing ones are changing, giving the water a sparkling beauty and enhancing the allure of the trees and stones which fall into the lakes. The water keeps breaking through the travertine barriers at different places, so that the entire process of formation of lakes and dams is alive and very dynamic. This is a unique and interesting natural phenomenon. Nature continues to impress in undisturbed ecological conditions. Besides the lakes, there are some interesting caves in which the remains of prehistoric settlements have been found. In the end, we suggest using the opportunity to taste typical local dishes from this area in a local tavern (optional). You will have some free time to take coffee or a snack and enjoy this beautiful green oasis.the National Park, our guide will lead you to the entrance and buy tickets for you. You will get a map of the park with all the good trails you could use. Our guide will inform you about the time and meeting point for the return back to Split, and then your adventure begins. Four hours of clean air along with the sound of birds chirping, will surely fill your mind and body with good vibes for the return home after your vacation.
